Overview
Oracle OPERA Cloud lets front office staff add a second, alternate credit card to a guest's reservation after check-in, so incidental charges can be authorised separately from the card used for the room folio. Use this procedure when a guest wants incidentals charged to a different card, using a connected Chip and PIN terminal.

What you'll achieve
After completing these steps, a new payment window holding the alternate card will be set up on the reservation, and it will be authorised for the amount you specify via the connected terminal.
Before you start
- The guest must already be checked in, with the existing payment method in place on Window 1 (their primary folio window).
- A Chip and PIN card terminal must be connected.
Know the additional authorisation amount to request on the alternate card.
Operational steps
- From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Front Desk, then In House.
- Search for and open the reservation.
- Click I Want To… and select Payment Instructions.
- Click Window 2.
- Select Payment Type as CP-Chip and Pin, and set the Authorization Rule as needed.
- Click OK to save.

Run the additional authorisation
- Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) and select Credit Card Authorization.
- Select the alternate payment (CP) from Window 2 and select the Additional option.
- Verify the Additional Authorization Amount and click Run Additional Authorization to activate the Payment Terminal for Chip & Pin.
- Follow the prompts on the Payment Terminal Device to complete the transaction.
