Overview
Oracle OPERA Cloud can guarantee a reservation using a connected Chip and PIN payment device, so the guest presents their card to a terminal instead of the card number being typed in. If a property doesn't have a payment device connected, the same screen falls back to manual entry of the card number and expiry date. This article covers both paths for the Payment Instructions screen.

What you'll achieve
After completing these steps, a token request will be triggered — either by the connected payment device reading the guest's card, or automatically once the card number and expiry date are entered manually — and the resulting token will guarantee the reservation, subject to processing by OPI Cloud Service.
Before you start
- Know whether your property has a Chip and PIN payment device connected for reservations — the steps differ depending on this.
- Have the reservation ready to search for.
Operational steps
- From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, then Reservations, then click Manage Reservation.
- Search for and open the reservation.
- Click I Want To… and select Payment Instructions.
- Click New/Edit Payment Instructions.
- Select the general CP-Chip and Pin Payment Method, or a specific defined Chip and PIN payment method, such as Mastercard or Visa.
If your property doesn't have a payment device connected
Enter the Card Number and Expiration date manually. A token request is triggered automatically.
If your property has a payment device connected
Do not enter the Card Number or Expiration data manually.
Click Get Token. This triggers the payment device.
Need more help?
If Get Token doesn't trigger the payment device, or the device doesn't respond, contact 934 Support (support@weare934.com) with the reservation number, last 4 digits from the credit card and the date and time you attempted to post the payment. Do not send full card numbers, Cashier PINs, or other login credentials by email or chat.
