Overview
To process payments through Saferpay, your property needs its own Saferpay account and a set of Saferpay credentials: a Customer ID, one or more Terminal IDs and a JSON API login. This guide explains how to request a Saferpay account from Worldline and how to create your JSON API login in the Saferpay Backoffice, so your credentials are ready before you start your Juno set-up.

What you'll achieve
By the end of this guide you'll have an active Saferpay account, your Customer ID and Terminal ID(s), and a JSON API login you created yourself in the Saferpay Backoffice.
Before you start
You need a signed Saferpay contract with Worldline. 934 can't create a Saferpay account on your behalf.
- Know which payment methods and currencies you want to accept. Worldline asks for these when you request your account.
- Saferpay has two separate environments: test and live. Credentials, transactions and saved cards don't carry over between them, so keep your test and live credentials clearly apart.
Saferpay credentials at a glance
| Credential | What it is | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Customer ID | Identifies your Saferpay account | Sent by Worldline when your account is activated. Also shown in the lower-left corner of the Saferpay Backoffice, below the main navigation. |
| Terminal ID | Identifies the Saferpay terminal that payments are processed through. An account can have more than one. | Sent by Worldline when your account is activated |
| Backoffice login | Your user login for the Saferpay Backoffice | Sent by Worldline when your account is activated |
| JSON API login (username and password) | Authenticates requests to the Saferpay Payment API | Live: you create it yourself in the Saferpay Backoffice (see step 2). Test: included in the test account email from Saferpay. |
Operational steps
Step 1: Request your Saferpay account
- Contact the Worldline Sales team. If you already have a Saferpay account, contact your Worldline account manager instead.
- Tell Worldline which payment methods and currencies you want to accept.
- Sign your Saferpay contract.
- Wait for the Worldline activation team to email your live Backoffice login, Customer ID and Terminal ID(s).
If you need a test account, request it. Saferpay emails your test Customer ID, Terminal IDs, Test Backoffice login and JSON API username and password.
Step 2: Create your JSON API login (live accounts)
Saferpay doesn't generate JSON API credentials for the live environment — you need to create them yourself.
- Log in to the live Saferpay Backoffice at www.saferpay.com/bo/login.
- Go to Settings > JSON API basic authentication.
- Select Create new JSON API login. Saferpay creates the username for you.
- Enter a description, for example "Juno".
- Enter a password that meets Saferpay's rules:
- exactly 16 characters
- at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- at least one number or special character
- only letters A–Z and a–z, numbers 0–9, and these symbols:
:+-,_*/$%&()[]=!
- Save the login, and immediately store the username and password in a secure password manager.
Important: Saferpay stores the password in encrypted form only. Once saved, it can't be looked up again. If the password is lost, you'll need to create a new JSON API login.
Expected result
You have your Saferpay Customer ID, at least one Terminal ID, your Backoffice login and a JSON API username and password, stored securely and ready for your Juno set-up.
Troubleshooting
I've lost my JSON API password
Saferpay can't retrieve a saved JSON API password. In the Saferpay Backoffice, go to Settings > JSON API basic authentication and create a new JSON API login. To delete the old login, select its checkbox and select Remove.
My password isn't accepted when creating the JSON API login
Check that the password is exactly 16 characters and uses only the permitted characters listed in step 2, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number or special character.
My credentials don't work
Test and live are separate Saferpay environments. Check that you're using live credentials for the live environment and test credentials for the test environment — they aren't interchangeable.
I can't access the Saferpay Backoffice or I'm missing a payment method
Backoffice access and payment method activation are managed by Worldline, not 934. Contact Worldline Customer Services using the details on the Saferpay support page, and have your Customer ID and Backoffice username ready.
