Summary: This article provides a summary of key behaviors and limitations related to payment processing with Worldline Blue, specifically in conjunction with Opera and Ogone platforms.
1. Omni-Channel vs. Multi-Channel Behavior
Worldline Blue does not support an Omni-Channel approach for payment processing. This means that a transaction initiated in one channel must be completed within that same channel.
2. Card Present Use Cases
- Front Desk Payment Terminal: When processing a Card Present transaction at the front desk using a payment terminal, only Direct Settlement is supported. Pre-authorization (reservation) and subsequent completion using the same payment terminal is not supported in this setup.
- Workaround for Authorization/Completion: If a hotel needs to process authorization, completion, or release transactions for a Card Present payment, they must use the Opera Payment Widget and manually enter the card details.
3. Authorization and Completion
The creation of a token, authorization, and completion of a payment are supported through the Opera Payment Widget. To perform these transactions, follow these steps:
- Manually enter the card number into the Opera Payment Widget.
- Create a token within Opera.
- Perform the authorization and completion as usual within the Opera system.
4. Top-Up (Increasing Authorization Amount)
- Unsupported Functionality: Increasing an authorization amount using the "Top-Up" function is not supported by the Ogone and Worldline Blue platforms. Attempting this action will result in an error in Opera.
- Workaround: To increase an authorized amount, you must:
- Release the initial authorization.
- Create a new authorization for the desired, higher amount.
5. Payments from OTA/Booking Engines
Payment and token requests received from Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) or other booking engines are processed through Ogone. These transactions function as designed, with the exception of the "Top-Up" limitation noted above.
Note: The restrictions and behaviors described in this article are not due to limitations of the Juno platform but are a result of the capabilities of Worldline Blue and the technical restrictions of Ogone.
